03-04-2009 1:11:27 PM PST Hi RunAways. I hope you are running back to you! Thanks for your heartfelt letter of encouragement and perception of my love for Steve. yes, I wished those things too...alas...life turned out differently for me. I guess I had to live through that so I could be here for folks like you. Elin and the many runaway hearts that share their feelings with me.For all of you...
I want to share this is 3 part interview I did for Braveheart Women TV...go to this link and you will get my message and story. Always, in the Loving, Lorelei
-------http://www.tv.braveheartwomen.com 02-28-2009 3:19:31 PM PST Hi Runaways, I have noticed sometimes I get out of balance when I try to make things happen in my own time rather than letting things happen in Spirit's time. I found this wonderful wquote and wanted to share it with you..."Occasionally we attempt to force the creation of something that is not in harmony with the will of the universe, or is not for the highest good of all concerned. In these situations, the universe invariable places a roadblock in our path to signal us that what we are attempting to manifest is not harmonious with the divine plan."
So remember...God is on the plan. we only have to show up. Love, Lorelei
02-23-2009 1:40:08 PM PST Hi Gang, Missed you guys this week. I watched the Oscar's last night. Great show. I was glad to see Slumdog Millionaire take the magic night away. It just shows you don't have to be a celebrity to drive ticket sales, or win people's hearts. It seems these days if you are not a celebrity or a "super-someone" then you are no-one. Slumdogs brought us back to the fact that we are all the same. Rich or poor. We all have the same choices to make. Live, Love and survive.
I hope you all live life to the fullest and choose LOVE.
Have a blessed day, Lorelei 02-16-2009 9:41:20 PM PST Feb 16th. Oh it is soooo cold in California! I know you east coasters are saying "Sure, you don't know what cold is!" But then you have never been to Joshua Tree when it was snowing like I was today!!! Brrr....snow in the desert? Okay I will stop complaining and tell you what really warms me up in these winter months...
Letters...letters from you! I came home to the sweetest pictures and emails and blog responses this time and I really want to say Thank you for writing in. Today I also had a very heart warming letter from a woman who has survived so many things similar to what I wrote about in Runway RunAway. Her experiences were even more dramatic than mine and yet my story made her cry. I think those tears are tears of true compassion and forgiveness. A wonderful way to heal. Let the teardrops flow any chance they come around. I believe they allow us to soften our faces, our hearts and our way of being. If someone says that is weak then I say I'd rather be pretty and weak than strong and scary!
A big hello out the Sarah and Claire- you are too young to read my book yet...unless your mom reads it first and then say ---ok--- when you're like 18 maybe!I also want to respond to Krysta from San Diego-Please email me your address- I want you to meet Lauren on MySpace..she desperately needs to connect with another girl her age and I told her about you. RUnway Runaways, I so appreciate your strength and courage and your letters too. Barabara....that includes YOU! Enjoy the winter.........brrr.....back to the beach for me. Love Lorelei
02-13-2009 10:16:26 AM PST Happy Valentine's Day Run Aways!
I just wanted to put out the LOVE for this weekend. Remember to be in the "loving" ...not just romantically but "loving" to all. Especially your SELF!
I will be loving on myself at a desert spa oasis this weekend. Nurturing myself with hot mineral pools and some healing massage therapy for my body. The one that carts my soul around daily. My body needs some love and attention in these dull, cold wintery months. I hope you will take care of your bodies too. Even a hot, sudsy, candlit bath will do wonders for your souls.
I send you love and candlight from deep in my heart.
Lorelei 02-02-2009 3:21:23 PM PST Hi there! It's me again...I have a treat for you. Okay, I apologize to you folks on the east coast who are freezing your butts off! It is in the high 60's or low 70's here and kinda freaky...it feels like spring! So, of course there has to be a price to pay somewhere.
Paying the Piper I call it...we all have to pay the piper. If you ever think someone else has it easier than you- forget it- we are all the same. Sometimes it looks as if other people are having a better time- or an easier time of it...I'm here to tell you it all comes out in the wash. In other words - it only appears to be that way, so, be thankful for what you've got. When I went through what I call "the great leveler"---around the time Steve's disease was spiraling downward---I realized I was not alone. Other folks were suffering losses in their lives too, but in different ways. I saw people who thought that they had it all - lose everything. Whether it happened through death- or a fire- or a flood or a hurricane, everyone had to endure a loss or challenge of some kind. Some folks experience loss in their early years- others experience it later. No matter what, I see how everyone must learn to "let go" and "let God" drive at some point or another. I think the reason is to teach us that we cannot control people, places or things...We must learn to trust that all things happen for a reason and we can't take our stuff with us when we die anyway. So, my realization is this--- We are all the same. Let's start today by having a "treat". Let's treat ourselves gently with love and compassion...and while we're at treat others lovingly too. Then as we pass that energy around we can watch it manifest itself into oceans of love. Enjoy the experience this will bring. Love, Lorelei 01-26-2009 10:14:20 AM PST Hard Rock Cafe Event,
Hi friends, I want to say Thank you to those of you who made it out to the Hard Rock Cafe last Thursday evening for my Runway RUnAway book reading and the lovely Lauren Monroe Band's set. We had such a thrilling time and we both feel so lucky and grateful to have your support. Rick Allen looks so happy when he is backing Lauren doesn't he? I will be posting a short video for those of you who were not able to be there. In it you will see snippets of my reading, Rick Allen and his mum and of course Lauren Monroe singing her heartfelt soulful songs. It is so good to be able to meet you at these events. To be able to put real faces to your names is to good to be true. Plus, I get to give you all big, warm hugs!
For those of you who I have not yet had a chance to meet - let's affirm that one day we will! Now- I must get to work again- keep your letters coming and I will do my best to keep up.
Have a funfilled day:_) Lorelei 01-11-2009 11:49:55 PM PST Hello folks!
I have so much to tell you about Lauren Monroe's gig last night at the Mint in Hollywood but there's so much to say and I am just finishing up watching the Golden Globes right now so....
Can we talk about the Golden Globes first?
Were they AMAZING or AWESOME? According to what those actors were saying they had to be one or the other - or both!
Let's talk fashion first shall we?
OK SO Brown hair is now in for men---What happened to our blonde blue eyed celebrities? I mean Sting - Brown hair and beard? Brad Pitt?
And Women- ok, so the Grecian Goddess fashions are in....all those draped chiffons wrapped over one shoulder - beautiful, elegant and graceful in every way. Still unfortunately we still had those 90's flashbacks of J-LO wearing the open cleavage glitzy gold halter showing everything but her belly button...Hasn't she done this before? Maybe she got her fashion tips from Tina Fey who was wearing something similar. And Eva Mendes- beautiful girl who spent all that time playing dress-up only to appear looking as if her hairdresser took her for a roll in the hay- why ruin a good look? Speaking of hair- could someone please get Demi Moore a brush and smooth her lovely log brown hair - please, and Tina Fey's hair too- please - help.
My favorites were:
Megan Fox in Ralph Lauren's beaded, fitted metallic floor length gown. her hair was coiffed and slick and she looked like a real Hollywood Movie Star. Gorgeous.
Kate Winslet in an elegant ,YSL, black floor length satin column dress. Another throw back to the glamour that Hollywood is known for. Red lips and all. Go Kate. Fantastic win - Two in one night. Glad you picked the St. Laurent so we could get to see it twice.
Laura Dern- it looked like a Chanel to me but it was Marc Jacobs and I though it suited her personality. She wore it well.
Sally Hawkins from Happy Go Lucky - Very pretty in an Audrey Hepburn sort of way - still, I am a little worried -could someone please get her a hamburger or two? Poor thing. Don't they feed these actresses?
For Men, only one came as dapper as a leading man in my opinion----Colin Farrell- Loved the tux- the vest and the bow tie smile.
In closing I would like to add the evening wasn't only "Amazing" and "Awesome" as the American Hollywood folks would have us continue to repeat- but it was "Absolutely spectacular" "Fantastic" and "Brilliant" too.
I'm dying to know what your highlights were too.
Cheers,
Lorelei
PS More about Lauren, Rick, Vivian and friends tomorrow....ok!
01-08-2009 9:34:50 PM PST Dear Beloved Bloggers,
Welcome back to my blog. I have missed you all. I want to take this opportunity thank each and every one of you who purchased my book and I am equally grateful for your letters and feedback.
Today marks 18 years since our dearly beloved Steve slipped away. I know many of you joined me in a collective candle lit vigil in his honor and I hope you felt the same heartfelt bittersweet peace that I did.
I had many candles and held the heart-shaped locket he gave me with our pictures in it. I also held my Crystal Ally Cards next to it near my heart. There was that great picture of him smiling from the front of the book - in color on my glass table in front of me and I sat in the silence and prayed.
After the meditation with my eyes closed....
I drew one card from the deck....it was the Lepidolite crystal card representing "Acceptance" ! Can you imagine the magic of the name Lepidolite???
Here is what the card read...
Lepidolite is a soft lavender-to-magenta stone with a high lithium content. Like other high lithium stones, Lepidolite creates a calming, soothing energy around the heart chakra ad within the aura. Lepidolite often occurs in tandem with Rubelite (pink tourmaline). This symbiotic relationship combines the soft, calming energy of Lepidolite with the deep sense of Love and Inner Peace that tourmaline provides.
The resonance that Lepidolite creates within one's energetic field is that of acceptance. Acceptance is the process of surrendering the the higher Will of the Divine Creator. Occasionally we attempt to force the creation of something that is not in harmony with the will of the universe, or is not for the highest good of all concerned. In these situations, the universe invariable places a roadblock in our path to signal us that what we are attempting to manifest is not harmonious with the divine plan. When a block such as this occurs, we need to accept the will of the Universe, and "hand over" the situation to our higher power.
Practicing acceptance of Universal Will creates trust in the abundance of the Universe.
Acceptance is not the same as giving up or quitting. Acceptance is an act of faith in the greater plan of the Universe, not simply a reaction to frustration and difficulty. In many cases, an act of acceptance takes supreme courage, and the willingness to live our belief in the Universal plan.
Chakra: Heart
Affirmation: I accept miracles into my life.
We are all here to learn to "accept what is" even when we don't want to.
I am grateful for the reminder and for my life.
I am so glad to know you are a part of it too.
Light ahead,
Lorelei
